This year marks the 12th anniversary of the Annual Capstone Conference, which is taking place on July 24th, 2017 with the theme of “Challenging Assumptions and Changing Practice.”
The 12th Annual Capstone Conference will feature 26 research projects carried out by UBC’s Graduating Master of Occupational Therapy Class. Research is conducted in the year leading up to the conference, and topics are as diverse as the field of occupational therapy itself. We encourage you to attend the project presentations that peak your interest, and to engage with us through the question period that follows each presentation. When not attending the research presentations, we hope that you will pay a visit to the display booths of our generous donors.
This year, we are thrilled to present Dr. Bonnie Kirsh as the conference keynote speaker, along with Laura Yvonne Bulk as our esteemed guest speaker. We are also delighted to have our own professor, Dr. Jill Zwicker, deliver the Faculty Address.
The 12th Annual Capstone Conference would not be possible without the guidance and support of numerous individuals. We would therefore like to take this opportunity to extend our heartfelt thanks to all members of the Capstone Committee, as well as Tracy Henderson, Mark Meheriuk, Shareen Khan, Ashlee Evans, Ivy Thompson, and Dr. Sue Forwell. Their dedication and tireless efforts have helped to create what will certainly be a successful conference.
Please join us as we place the final ‘capstone’ onto our journey as occupational therapy students and take the first step into our chosen profession! We hope that you will enjoy your time at the Capstone Conference and leave feeling both informed and inspired.
Your Capstone Conference 2017 Co-Chairs,
Paige Lund and Kathryn Reimer
